Who am I?
I am a German who lives in the United States for several years now. I work as a software developer for a large company. Mary and I met during a vacation and she was the reason that I moved to the US. English is not my native language, so forgive me for any mistakes (suggestions/corrections are welcome!).
Why anonymous?
I have spent a lot of thought how to do this. Maybe some people do not share my opinion, but it is a romantic thought for me (and I am sure also for Mary) that my proposal finds its way from me to her through the hands of thousands of people. It is a matter of fate. And everybody becomes a godsent messenger. If Mary and I would not be anonymous, some person would send the proposal directly to her and that is it. But that is not my intention.
Privacy
Another reason for staying anonymous is that many people will see this. Some will like it, but there are always “the other ones”. I do not want to become a target and – more important – I want to protect Mary's privacy. It will be up to her to decide (after she has received the proposal) whether we put up more information (hopefully wedding pictures) on the web site or not.
And finally: It might happen, that the press discovers the proposal and the homepage. Again that would threaten Mary's privacy, she would not be able to decide for herself, how public she wants to be.
Still you can send me an email at mail@proposal-to-mary.com. I don't know how many mails I will receive, but I will try to answer each single mail. But I can't promise…
For that reason I have asked a friend to register the domain for me and also to put the homepage on his server.
I don't make money with this!
I can understand that people might be suspicious about this proposal. But – I have not asked you for your email address, there is no advertising on my homepage, I do not want to sell anything. In fact, the higher the traffic on my homepage gets, the more money I will have to pay for internet traffic. So – I do not make money, I actually spend money.
So, please help me to spread the proposal via email, homepages, forums etc.
There is no risk for you but you can help me to make my proposal successful!
